Dear Sustainability faculty:

The third in the series of workshops by UCM’s Writer in Residence, Mark Arax ...

Next Tuesday (November 4), Writer in Residence Mark Arax will offer his next workshop on "Investigative Journalism: Our Last Best Hope When Democracy Corrodes" in COB 170. Please join us for coffee and cookies, with a lively discussion about investigative journalism practices and examples. This is the link to associated readings<https://libguides.ucmerced.edu/c.php?g=1487430&p=11098904>, which are provided during the workshop for participation.

=======

Writer in Residence program that the Library and SSHA are piloting this year, with McClatchy Foundation support.

Our writer to initiate this programming is Mark Arax, who has been a nationally recognized author and investigative journalist re: the Central Valley and sustainability. Mark is developing an archive at the library as part of this project, in addition to offering open workshops (to campus and community) on special topics associated with his upcoming book.

We felt this opportunity would be of strong interest to your committee. This is the workshop program ahead, with a flier for the one next week (link here for overall programming<https://libguides.ucmerced.edu/c.php?g=1487430&p=11098904>). Also, we have a Canvas Collaboration site for instructors, if anyone would like to be added to export instructional resources.
