[Studentemployment] Student On Campus New Hire Intake Events

Colleagues,

Student Employment Services has received an unprecedented number of requests for on campus student employment new hire intake appointments in the past few weeks.

Due to the impacts of Covid 19, the intake process for nearly all new hires has been facilitated completely “remote” since March 2020.  The remote process requires special coordination of information handling with not only the student, but also a selected representative to complete a portion of the process.  While this allows us to best protect the student’s sensitive information, the end-to-end process requirements and high volume of requests has significantly slowed the intake process.

To move the process long as quickly as possible, we have arranged for two on campus new hire intake sessions to be held in the Dining Pavilion, room 105 on the dates and times indicated below.  Communication regarding these sessions was sent out this evening to students whose Student Intake Request has been received by Student Employment Services through 7pm this evening and have not yet started the fully remote new hire intake process.


  *   Wednesday, August 18th – 8 am to 5 pm
  *   Monday, August 23rd – 8 am to 5 pm

For those whose new hire process is currently in any stage of the fully remote process, the student’s intake will remain handled remotely to avoid additional confusion.  However, if a student expresses a desire to discontinue the remote process and attend either of the in-person sessions, they will be accommodated.

We are currently looking for other opportunities to provide in person hiring events in the coming weeks and will communicate those dates/times as they become available.
