Dear FWS Hiring Managers,
Federal Work-Study earnings for 2019/20 are on pace to exceed our allocation. To ensure we have available funding to continue paying current FWS positions, we are implementing the following mitigating measures:
1. FWS positions with students who have exhausted their awards will not be refilled. FWS students who have reached their limit will have any additional earnings automatically charged 100% to the department FAU.
2. Requests for FWS award limit increases for current FWS positions have been suspended at this time.
3. Current FWS positions will be closely monitored to ensure student reported hours comply with campus policy, especially for students being paid based on their scheduled hours because they are unable to perform their duties remotely.
We will continue to monitor FWS expenditures and notify you of any changes. Please contact us if you have questions. Thank you for your cooperation.
Regards,
