UC Merced Library is hosting a two-day Software Carpentry workshop for graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and faculty. This hands-on workshop will teach basic concepts, skills, and tools for working more effectively with data.

Software Carpentry workshops are for researchers from any discipline who have data they want to analyze, and no prior computational experience is required.

The curriculum will include:

· The Unix Shell

· Version Control with Git

· Plotting and Programming in Python

Visit the Workshop GitHub<https://ucmerced.github.io/2019-11-14-ucmerced/> page to view additional workshop details and agenda. Lunch and coffee will be provided on both days of the workshop.

By the end of the workshop, learners should be able to more effectively manage and analyze data and be able to apply the tools and approaches directly to their ongoing research.

Registration<https://libcal.ucmerced.edu/event/5638867> is required. Space is very limited, register early.
