Dear UC Merced Lecturer,



This email serves as an official announcement, opening the *Fall 2020*,
application process for professional development funds to support your
teaching.  As this benefit was extended to lecturers within the UC system
through union agreement, *all lecturers are eligible and encouraged to
apply*.  Funds are provided annually by UC Merced administration in
accordance with Article 9 of the UC-AFT/UC Memorandum of Understanding.



The attached guidelines have information on qualifications.  If you qualify
and wish to complete the application proposal please submit by the deadline
below.  All instructions are contained within each document. *Be sure to
note the activity period covered by this round of applications; it has
changed from previous years.*  We encouraged first-time applicants.



The *deadline for fall applications is: November 1, 2020* (for expenses
incurred July 1, 2020- December 31, 2020).  Please forward applications to
the Academic Personnel Office: academicpersonnel at ucmerced.edu.
