Thanks Jeff. I agree with your suggestions and have attached an updated draft of the deck. In my mind this is a final draft, so we can rename the file before posting.

Thanks again and happy Thanksgiving,

Hi Roderick,

I have a couple suggestions for your presentation.

1. The Overview of Existing Models could go in the Project Purpose & Previous Work section
[cid:fbbcb8d1-90a7-40f4-9dd3-54a919f00f61 at namprd06.prod.outlook.com]

2. The Project Schedule can go into Next Steps

[cid:2da67c64-7253-4541-9e9b-f8c9c0cbfefd at namprd06.prod.outlook.com]

That is all, good work.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Sure. Are you thinking we'd run through the presentation in full (i.e., a full hour)? I'm available at the following times:

  *   Monday 4pm-6pm
  *   Tuesday 9am-noon
  *   Tuesday 3:30pm-5pm

Thanks,
Roderick

Hi Roderick,

I reviewed the slides, and they look informative as they are. Do you an hour on Monday or Tuesday of next week for a practice run of the presentation?

Hi Roderick,

There is no hard requirement for when to post the presentation materials. I am working on getting the workshop announcement approved by my division. The announcement is due to be posted by November 19, after which we can post presentation materials and other updates to it.

Jeff, can you confirm what the process is for the slides we sent over yesterday? Will they get reviewed and posted, and will we have a chance to edit them before they do get posted?

Thanks,
Roderick

Hi all,

Please find our draft slides for the introductory workshop attached.

@Jeffrey at Energy<mailto:jeffrey.sunquist at energy.ca.gov>, given that the workshop has been pushed back, could we have more time to refine these slides internally and get feedback from you?

Thanks,
Roderick

Thanks Jeff. Can you please tell us what has changed on your end to necessitate the postponement? I'd be concerned if the date slipped any further, since we'd likely be looking at a January timeframe with holidays.

Hi Roderick,

Yes that's correct. We will need to have the workshop after Thanksgiving. Dec 3 is still tentative.

Thanks for sharing, Sarah! We're still planning to send our set of slides over by the end of the day unless we hear otherwise.

And it looks like @Jeffrey at Energy<mailto:jeffrey.sunquist at energy.ca.gov> updated the hold on my calendar for the workshop to 12/3. Is that correct?

Thanks again,
Roderick

Hi, Jeff,

Here are the draft slides from UC Merced.

Is the workshop date finalized?
Are we ready to schedule either individual or joint TAC meetings?
I have heard multiple interpretations of the language in the SB100. Does the CEC have an official stance on this for inclusion in the baseline? In slide 38, I note the 2045 target to be 0, but if our model for 2045 includes the previous years, we might have > 0 entered in the model, so I’m proposing to go out to 2050 for a true zero. I’ve also heard some people talking about allowing emissions that isn’t associated with the retail sales, but might occur elsewhere in the system. I’d prefer to stay away from such things, but want to make sure that the CEC is aligned before we talk about it publicly.

Would it be useful to have a quick conference call?

Thanks!

Sarah

It's OK if the slides don't match the outline 100%. I just wanted to see the overall plan for the presentations.

Similarly, I had been thinking to delete some of the detailed notes and might want to edit them slightly if that’s possible.

Thanks Jeff!

Just a note that some of our sub-bullet details are changing as our team has been discussing internally. Hopefully that’s okay, and we’ll have the material ready by the deadline.

Thanks,

Roderick

Hi Sarah and Roderick,

I attached the outlines after making some minor edits. I put UCM's first on the schedule, because it has more information about storage (and competing) technologies, which provides a visual or tangible context for the modeling and scenario design parameters that E3 goes into.

Lets set a due date for the Draft Presentations for the morning of Nov 2. These drafts will need to be reviewed by my unit's leadership.

Thanks,
Jeff
