Subject: MS State Vet School summer international internships (undergraduate)

Good Afternoon,

I am a faculty member at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and I am excited to announce that we have launched two first-of-their-kind opportunities for undergraduate students, now accepting applications for summer 2026. Programs are extremely limited in size and applications close February 10.

Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine Summer Veterinary Internships<https://www.vetmed.msstate.edu/summer-internships> allow undergraduate students to participate in a short-term intensive academic veterinary program offered by a US vet school while gaining international experience.

We would so appreciate if you would share this program information with your pre-veterinary advisees who may be looking for summer opportunities to gain experience under the supervision of a veterinarian. On these programs offered by MSU CVM, students can expect:

  * Credit from Mississippi State University (3 credits for Thailand program, 4 credits for Belize program)
  * Veterinary hours earned in clinic and field settings under close supervision of a veterinarian
  * Experience with varied types of animals, including wildlife, aquatics, large animal, and companion animal

These courses are offered in partnership with Loop Abroad, ranked the #1 top-rated study abroad provider in the world by GoAbroad in 2024 and consistently recognized as a leader in pre-veterinary educational programs.

If I can provide any additional information about these programs, or if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. We are on a shorter enrollment timeline than we hoped in our first year and are working hard to get these programs in front of as many potential students as we can, and we really appreciate you taking the time to learn more about this endeavor and sharing with your advisees.
