Dear graduate group chairs,



I am writing to let you know of a useful mentoring workshop series that
will be held here on campus next Monday, November 6 in the California Room
(see attached flyer).


The workshop series consists of four sessions presented by Dr. Daniel
Wong, the Director of Mentoring and Bridge Programs in the Office of
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Graduate College at the University
of of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign:


9 - 10:30 AM: Building & Maintaining an Accountable Mentoring Relationship

 (open to grad students & undergrads only)


10:45 - 12:15 PM: Becoming a Master Mentor: A Student-Centered Approach

 (open to faculty, postdocs, research scientists & staff only)


1 - 2:30 PM: Negotiating the Mentor-Mentee Dynamic

(open to all)


2:45 - 4:15 PM: Addressing Equity and Inclusion in Mentoring Relationships

(open to all)


I would encourage you to attend any of the three sessions open to
faculty and ask that you forward this along to your colleagues, postdocs
and students as well. This should be a good series on a topic that is
important to all of us.
