Message forwarded on behalf of the NHMA College Health Scholars Program (CHSP):

Good afternoon,

We hope this email finds you well. We are following up regarding an incredible opportunity to become a mentor or mentee in the College Health Scholars Program (CHSP).

What is the CHSP?
The CHSP provides pre-health college students pursuing careers in public health and medicine with a variety of support, the principal component being 1-1 mentoring with a CHSP mentor (who is a healthcare professional or a student in a post-graduate program), to provide students with guidance as they matriculate into a graduate program. The goal of CHSP is to increase the diversity of the health workforce and increase the number of practicing Hispanic physicians, health professionals, and scientists/researchers.

What are the benefits of participating in the CHSP?

  * NHMA will periodically send out scholarships and other opportunities
  * Emails will be sent throughout the year with helpful resources and opportunities to win raffle prizes
  * The NHMA webpage will have updated scholarship information and other important information about PH graduate and medical schools

The CHSP one-on-one mentoring has been shown to be highly impactful across various domains including increased confidence, students' belief in their ability to achieve their personal and professional goals, validation that they belong in the healthcare field, and strategies to address future obstacles.
