Registration for Spring 2021 begins early November - check your <https://registrar.ucmerced.edu/registration-help-page/registering-classes/online-registration> MyRegistration<https://registrar.ucmerced.edu/registration-help-page/registering-classes/online-registration> for your assigned registration time. Make sure you’ve connected with your academic advisor<http://advising.ucmerced.edu/who-my-advisor> to discuss your course schedule. In addition to registration, advisors are available to discuss career interests, choosing a major or minor and campus resources to support personal, academic and career goals.
Read further for more information about course registration and how to connect with your academic advisor.
Make Plans This Week To:
Be Informed
Check your MyRegistration for <https://registrar.ucmerced.edu/registration-help-page/registration/registration-holds> holds on your record<https://registrar.ucmerced.edu/registration-help-page/registration/registration-holds> that might prevent registration—and clear the holds now!
Use the <https://mystudentrecord.ucmerced.edu/pls/PROD/xhwschedule.p_selectsubject> Schedule of Classes<https://mystudentrecord.ucmerced.edu/pls/PROD/xhwschedule.p_selectsubject> (open course list) to check prerequisites or restrictions for each of your spring courses (hint: click the 5 digit CRN, in blue)
All students should enroll in a minimum of 12 units each semester. Students who enter UC Merced as freshmen should complete an average of 30 units per year as part of the Journey to 30<https://registrar.ucmerced.edu/resources/registration-help/registering-classes/journey-30>.

Be Engaged
Take action on your mid-semester grades<http://advising.ucmerced.edu/mid_semester_grades>. Students in lower division courses (001-099) received grades this week. Don’t have a lower division class? Now’s a great time to review your syllabus and connect with your instructor about improving or maintaining your current grade.
Review the Registrar’s website<https://registrar.ucmerced.edu/registration-help-page> to make sure you are ready to register in November.

Be Well
Find a new way to connect to campus. Many students who responded to the September Student Experience Survey indicated they connected with fellow students, faculty and staff one time per week or less. Visit the <https://success.ucmerced.edu/#BeEngaged> Success Website<https://success.ucmerced.edu/#BeEngaged> or our new <https://events.ucmerced.edu/> Events page<https://events.ucmerced.edu/> for opportunities to plug-in to the Bobcat Community.
Looking for more support? Consider joining a CAPS group - find more information here<https://counseling.ucmerced.edu/group-outreach>.

Get Your Flu Shot
All students (on and off-campus) are required<https://health.ucmerced.edu/news/2020/flu-vaccines-now-required-110120> to get a flu shot by November 1. UC Merced students can take advantage of the Health Center’s no-cost clinic. Visit your MyHealthPortal<https://shib.ucmerced.edu/idp/profile/cas/login?execution=e1s1> for an appointment.

Join the Humanities Department for a virtual screening of the award-winning film Singing Our Way to Freedom, which chronicles the life and music of Ramon “Chunky” Sanchez from his humble beginnings as a farmworker in Blythe to the dramatic moment when he received one of his nation’s highest musical honors at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
Ramirez's arc of transformation from marginalized farm kid to charismatic social activist shows how one person can mobilize people to change the world. The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with the filmmaker.
