Dear UC Merced faculty and students,

Please consider this special opportunity for faculty to increase collaboration on sustainability-related research.

The Solar Energy Association (SEA) and the Faculty Advisory Committee on Sustainability (FACS) are jointly organizing “Energize Merced” - Saturday, April 30, as part of the Earth Month activities. SEA seeks to Energize UC Merced students by providing an engaging, educational event including internationally known speakers in addition to UC Merced speakers. In partnership with SEA, FACS seeks to increase collaboration on sustainability-related research within UC Merced. To support both of these goals, we are inviting you to listen to presentations, present and view posters, get a free lunch, and start a new collaboration! The full schedule can be found at the link below.
We’d like to highlight our guest speakers:
Ron Sinton “Demanding Renewables” (Ron has a PhD from Stanford and more than 30 years experience with the solar industry)
Roger Aines “Getting to Neutral” (Roger has a PhD from CalTech and almost 40 years experience at Lawrence Livermore National Lab)

We will have talks from faculty on their sustainability-related research.

Energize Merced will be free to ALL UCM students and staff (but you must register so we’ll get enough food). Register at: https://forms.office.com/pages/responsepage.aspx?id=o-nf9HjKmEm3p-bQaS6s5m1L40gr-2lBmX6z95gge6lUME40TEFUWTFKWEYxWkxBRU1ONkhPQzdKTy4u
