2025 MINIMUM WAGE UPDATE

The results of Proposition 32 have been officially certified.

Effective 1/1/25 the new minimum wage in California will increase to $16.50 per hour.  The adjustment of any student earning less than the new minimum wage will automatically increase to $16.50 effective 12/22/2024 for bi-weekly paid employees in accordance with UC mandate.

No action is required by the department.

An adjustment above the new minimum rate requires the submission of a Student Rate Change and/or Job Extension<https://bfs.ucmerced.edu/form/student-rate-change> request.

2025 Student Assistant Pay Schedule is attached for your review.
