Colleagues,

As we quickly move towards curtailment and the new year, Student Employment Services would like to share some important updates and reminders.

UCPath DOWN TIME

UCPath will be offline starting on Friday, December 10th at 12 pm through Monday, December 12th at 6 am for maintenance.  During this time, employees will not have access to the portal.  Additionally, Payroll Services will be unable to process new/re-hire student actions, thus initial access to TRS may be delayed.

TRS (timesheet submission/approvals) and Handshake are not impacted by UCPath down time.


EARLY TIMESHEET SUBMISSION FOR BIWEEKLY EMPLOYEES

To accommodate processing of the bi-weekly checks that will issue on January 5, 2022, it is necessary for bi-weekly paid employees to submit timesheets for the period of 12/12/21-12/25/21 earlier than the regular submission date.

Timesheets for the above indicated period will be due for submission by employees no later than 12 pm on Saturday, December 18th and should include predicted hours of work through December 25th.  Supervisors should approve timesheets no later than 10 am on Monday, December 20th.

Additional campus wide communication will be distributed during the week of the early submission deadline.

MINIMUM WAGE

Effective 1/1/21 the new minimum wage in California will be $15.00.  The adjustment of any student earning less than the new minimum wage will be automatically increased effective 12/26/2021 in accordance with UC mandate.  No action is needed by the department.

JOB EXTENSION

Extension requests<https://bfs.ucmerced.edu/form/student-rate-change> for jobs ending during the curtailment period must be received no later than December 10, 2021 to avoid auto termination during the break.  Please work with your department representative to determine student job end dates.
