Dear All SSHA Graduate Students,
We hope your Fall semester is going well and looking forward to the upcoming break!
As a friendly reminder, if you have not enrolled in 12 units for the Spring 2024 semester, please do so as soon as possible. All full-time graduate students must be enrolled in 12 units. If you experience any registration errors, please contact your SSHA Graduate Services Coordinator with a screenshot of the error message.
To request independent study courses, submit the electronic independent study request form <https://registrar.ucmerced.edu/forms> on the Office of the Registrar's website. Once the instructor of record approves the request, enroll in the course using the CRN code sent to your UC Merced email from the Office of the Registrar. You will not be automatically enrolled and need to register for the course via your UCM student portal.
All graduate students should read and be familiar with their graduate program's policies and procedures<https://ssha-grad.ucmerced.edu/graduate-programs> and Graduate Division's Policies and Procedures.<https://graduatedivision.ucmerced.edu/current-students/calendar-and-deadlines> Failure to utilize these resources and ask questions of the SSHA Graduate Services Coordinators may impede achieving milestones towards progress to degree and miss critical deadlines.
To prepare for a successful semester, we recommend the following:
* Check your UC Merced email frequently!
* Check in regularly with your faculty graduate advisor <https://ssha-grad.ucmerced.edu/progress-degree> regarding matters such as your academic progress, research, plans for examinations during the fall semester, and graduation plans.
* Visit the SSHA Graduate Services <https://ssha-grad.ucmerced.edu/> website for information and resources.
For Spring 2024 semester, if you plan to:
* Withdraw from the university, please submit the Leaving UC Merced<https://registrar.ucmerced.edu/forms> form on the Office of the Registrar's website.
