Dear patrons of the SLAAM seminars,
We are excited to bring to you the next edition of the Soft Living Active and Adaptive Matter (SLAAM) seminars this spring. The first seminar this year is coming up on Monday, Jan. 31st at 9 am (Pacific)/12 noon Eastern US/5 pm Central European Time. This seminar will be given by Dr. Michael Norton ( Rochester Institute of Technology, NY).
Title: Towards model-based control of active matter: active nematics and oscillator networks
Dr. Michael Norton is a Research Scientist in Physics at the Rochester Institute of Technology studying pattern formation in nonequilibrium and biophysical systems. He works with Prof. Moumita Das on the modeling of bacterial DNA-protein condensates.
