We are excited to announce that the next Soft Living Active and Adaptive Matter (SLAAM) seminar will be on Monday, Aug 15th at 9 am Pacific/12 noon Eastern time, by Dr. Alexander Mietke (MIT).

Dr. Mietke is DFG Fellow and an EMBO Long-Term postdoctoral fellow in the group of Jörn Dunkel at MIT. His research focuses on the role of broken symmetries and self-organization in active matter and living systems. More details about the speaker and abstract of the talk can be found in the attached poster.

As usual, there will be a 15 min informal Q&A at the end of the hour. Graduate students will have an opportunity to interact with the speaker in an informal setting during "Meet the speaker" timeslot just after the talk. Please join if the time works for you.
