Restoration Program Fisheries Monitoring
Hi UC Merced Staff,
I am hoping you can help me with my recruiting efforts to hire five
seasonal employees to assist with the San Joaquin River Restoration
Program's (SJRRP - www.restoresjr.net) fisheries monitoring efforts this
upcoming field season. These are six-month positions, individuals will be
stationed in Fresno, CA, and they will get the opportunity to gain a wealth
of field experience working on a number of different salmon monitoring
projects (Adult Redd and Carcass Monitoring, Juvenile Production, Growth,
and Survival, and Adult Monitoring and Trap and Haul).
There is a lot of exciting progress being made towards restoring a
population of Chinook Salmon to the SJRRP Restoration Area - right in your
backyard!

The San Joaquin River Restoration Program set a new record this year for
returning adult spring-run Chinook salmon: 448 – the highest number of
captured returns recorded since the Program started reintroducing
spring-run juveniles in 2014.
