Position: Visitor Services Intern
Location: San Luis National Wildlife Refuge Complex, Los Banos, CA
Duration: 7 months (27 weeks), starting August/September 2024

Benefits:

   - $1,280 bi-weekly stipend
   - Free on-site government housing
   - $100 monthly commuting stipend
   - $2,000 for professional development
   - *Public Land Corp Eligibility after 640 hours, offering
   non-competitive hiring status for federal positions*

Minimum Qualifications:

   - Ages 18-30 (up to 35 for veterans)
   - Available for full-time work (40 hours/week), including weekends
   - Possess a driver's license and personal vehicle
   - Pursuing or holding a degree in Education, Interpretation,
   Environmental Science, Natural Resources, Wildlife Biology, or a related
   field
   - US citizenship or permanent residency
   - Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Role Highlights:

   - Lead guided nature walks and public events
   - Develop educational and outreach programs
   - Engage visitors through roving interpretation and virtual content
   - Staff the visitor center information desk
   - Assist with trail upkeep and facility maintenance
   - Create Spanish language outreach materials
