Hello Program Coordinators, and Faculty Staff,



The Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), will be
running a winter break Mini-Semester program for women and underrepresented
groups in science on January 09 – 13, 2023. This extraordinary opportunity
is designed to introduce participants to the different career paths at a
national laboratory. Please see the attached announcement letter for more
information.



We would appreciate your help identifying students for this opportunity.
We are asking that you:



   1. Distribute the application link and/or the attached flyer to your
   qualified students
      1. https://surveys.external.bnl.gov/n/WDTSMiniSemesterApplication.aspx
   2. Encourage students to complete the online application
   3. Once an application is complete, students will receive a unique link
   to share with their recommending faculty. Supporting them in this would be
   appreciated.
   4. Students accepted into the program will be required to complete
   additional OEP requirements immediately upon notification. *Students
   that do not complete these OEP requirements on time will be disqualified
   from the program.*

We would also like to encourage all of your STEM students to apply to the
Department of Energy Workforce Development for Teachers and Scientists
(WDTS) Internships. The CCI internship is for community college students
and the SULI Internship is for 4-year colleges and universities. Links to
these programs are provided in the attachments. These programs provides
interns a weekly stipend for 10 weeks in the summer and 16 weeks in fall or
spring. See attached flyers for more details.
