Hello all,

Dr. Andi Heard, who some of you know, is a Physical Scientist with NPS Sierra
Nevada Network NPS inventory and monitoring network
<https://www.nps.gov/im/sien/about-us.htm>, and  also an SNRI Advisory
Committee member.

Andi is working with Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks to develop a
post-fire research prospectus that identifies the top post-KNP fire
<https://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/7838/> research and monitoring
priorities to aid the park in *prioritizing post-fire projects, seeking
funding, and communicating research/monitoring needs to partners*. The
focus is on the KNP fire, but they are also thinking broadly across the
Sierra as appropriate. She is keen to discuss opportunities for SNRI - NPS
coordination on both as they develop this prospectus over the next month
and a half or so.



In addition to some of the more obvious fire/forest/hydrology/climate
change inputs, I thought there might be benefit to having some systemic,
SETS, LCA (biomass), and social & cognitive science feedback as well.
Please feel free to share with other relevant PIs/areas I’ve overlooked.



Hoping to make some research connections and mutually beneficial
opportunities…let Andi know if you are interested in helping to shape NPS
thinking and priorities in this system now and into the future.
