Duties

   - Produce models, tools and stewardship strategies needed for
   sustaining, restoring, and enhancing ecosystems
   - Develop silvicultural options for restoring resilience and adaptive
   capacity at stand and landscape scales and develop new silvicultural
   options incorporating climate change into vegetation management regimes.
   - Conduct long-term research of forest restoration efforts and the
   impacts of fuel reduction techniques.
   - Participate in long-term silvicultural experimental networks spanning
   multiple regions
   - Facilitate scientific information exchange between land managers and
   various public entities engaged in planning or advisory processes
   - Assume custodianship of existing, high-priority multi-generational
   silviculture and restoration studies.
   - Develop novel sampling designs, or using remote sensing techniques to
   evaluate treatment effects in a cost-effective manner
