Good morning! I'm writing to let you know that a group of graduate students
here at UC Merced are launching a new student chapter of SEEDS (Strategies
for Ecology Education, Diversity, and Sustainability), part of the
Ecological Society of America. We welcome students from all majors and
backgrounds who are curious about ecology, conservation science, biology,
and more.

We have two upcoming opportunities we'd love for you to share with your
students:

1. First General Meeting – April 6, 2026 | 10–11 am | Granite Pass 172
(Lakeside)
This is a great chance for students to learn about fieldwork opportunities,
research, networking, and workshops, and to find out how to officially join
SEEDS.

2. UC Merced SEEDS BioBlitz – April 11, 2026
This is a campus-wide biodiversity observation event open to all students,
even those who aren't SEEDS members. Participants document as many plants,
animals, and other organisms as possible through iNaturalist, and we're
competing against chapters from other campuses, so the more observations,
the better!

I've attached two flyers with more details. If you'd be willing to share
them with your classes, other professors, or post them, we'd be super
grateful.
