Hi Everyone!

Happy post-thankgiving! I hope you're all having a restful few days.

I decided to fill the gap we had in the lab meeting schedule next week with
a DEI discussion. I like having some kind of DEI topic/activity once or
twice per semester and I realized we hadn't had one yet this semester.

Please see the two articles attached. The short one is a new perspective
article co-authored by a past collaborator of mine, Ezra Kottler. The other
(Cech and Widzunas 2021) is a research article that has garnered a lot of
citations in the few years since it was published and has a lot of
compelling results that quantify LGBTQ inequality in STEM.

Please read them both and I'll facilitate a discussion.
*Please bring at least three questions for the group related to these
papers.  *
