Anyone interested in hosting a UROC student this summer to help with
anything? I'm happy to co-sponsor, but realistically, I wouldn't be around
on a weekly basis for the student.

 Dear Jay,

It's Amy White and I am a UROC Scholar in the (SURF, CAMP, etc) program
this summer.

A little about the SURF Program, the program is designed to equip students
from (all backgrounds and disciplines; underrepresented minorities) with
research experience, graduate school preparation, and leadership
development to become competitive for graduate school. As part of the
SURF Program,
each student scholar is required to participate in a faculty-mentored
research project from June 5–August 4, 2023. The nine-week Summer
Undergraduate Research Institute is from June 5–August 4 and I have to work
on research under the guidance of a faculty mentor.

Some main outcomes of my research will have to be translated into a
research poster or academic research paper or an oral presentation to be
given at the UC Merced Research Symposium at the end of the nine weeks. This
year UROC will host the 16th annual research virtual symposium on August
5th and I will be expected to present my research.

Provided is the Mentorship Agreement form.
