Hello All,
Jay, thanks for the additional info on planting. Isabella Segarra (MVPGR student assistant) is cc’d here, and can send out an email to the Student Naturalist and ¿field curious? cohorts about volunteering (unless Jeniffer would like to contact ¿field curious?). This week might be a tight turn-around to try to pull-off, not sure.

The only limitation I see is transportation. Jesse, for 6/16, would you be arranging transportation from UC Merced out to the site?

Thanks for asking, Joy! We're in a very big push this week to try and get the plants planted, and next week will be a lot of finalizing the planting, error checking, and starting some initial measurements. Most of the work is during the work week, so I think about any day makes sense during the work week. (There's some work on the weekends too in case that's what works for peoples' schedules.

Hi Everyone,

I've mentioned to you here and there over the past year about how we're setting up a common garden for scarlet monkeyflowers just south of Yosemite NP. (See attached project 1-pager).

Well, the time is finally here to plug them into the ground. We've got ~3,500 seedlings to transplant from the UC Merced greenhouse to Batterson Station (US Forest Service). We're starting our big push to get them in the ground this week, and the push will probably last a couple of weeks, including plantings, quality checks, and initial measurements. If you or anyone you know feels like checking it out and can spare any time to help plug and/or measure some plants in that garden, please let me know.

If you Google Maps "Yosemite Forks" it will give you an approximate location of the garden, but here are the coordinates: 37.3795278172747, -119.62896439552196

Hopefully by mid-summer we'll have quite a pollinator garden up there.
