Hi Everyone,
I've mentioned to you here and there over the past year about how we're
setting up a common garden for scarlet monkeyflowers just south of Yosemite
NP. (See attached project 1-pager).
Well, the time is finally here to plug them into the ground. We've got
~3,500 seedlings to transplant from the UC Merced greenhouse to Batterson
Station (US Forest Service). We're starting our big push to get them in the
ground this week, and the push will probably last a couple of weeks,
including plantings, quality checks, and initial measurements. If you or
anyone you know feels like checking it out and can spare any time to help
plug and/or measure some plants in that garden, please let me know.
If you Google Maps "Yosemite Forks" it will give you an approximate
location of the garden, but here are the coordinates: 37.3795278172747,
-119.62896439552196
Hopefully by mid-summer we'll have quite a pollinator garden up there.
Hope you're having a great summer.
Jay
