Folx,

We can really use input on the future of the reserve facility. Please consider attending one of these events! Unfortunately I cannot attend either of these but I’ll be sending feedback.

Best,

Jay

Hi MVPGR advisory committee,

I just want to reinforce Joy’s emails about the upcoming Pavilion project focus group meetings. We have a nice set of folks who have indicated they will attend, but we are perhaps slightly light on representation from the researcher perspective, and especially the SoE community. If you or anyone in your lab can attend one of these events, it would be great! We’ve also emailed various grad students who are actively doing research on the MVPGR, but a followup nudge from you could be useful.

Workshop 1: Monday 11/15 (3pm-4:30pm), Zoom link here:
https://ucmerced.zoom.us/j/86320571906

Workshop 2: Thurs 11/18 (11am-12:30pm), Zoom link here:
https://ucmerced.zoom.us/j/81776348031

Specifically, we’d like to hear your input and ideas on how you use the MVPGR, how we can advance environmental stewardship, and a compelling vision for the future of education and research at MVPGR and potentially on surrounding research open space land. Note that the two program workshop sessions will cover the same content; you do not need to attend both sessions.

Let Joy or I know if you’re able to attend, and which one, so we can be sure to include you on the reminder email with agenda, etc.

Best,
Jessica

Hello, friends of the Merced Vernal Pools and Grassland Reserve (MVPGR)!

We are planning an exciting new capital project adjacent to the MVPGR, to build an outdoor educational pavilion that would further facilitate education, research, and public service related to vernal pools and grasslands ecosystems, build better engagement between the community and the UC, and also demonstrate the green technologies that UC Merced is known for.

As stakeholders, we would like your input on pavilion design! We will be having two program workshops via Zoom with the architect firm that has been hired for pavilion (LMSa) to get input on stakeholder needs and wishes, dates below:

Attached is the flyer for the program workshop meetings and the agenda.

Please rsvp by 11/12, or at your earliest convenience, if you are able to attend.

Best,
Joy
