Northern California Botanists 2019 Symposium
January 14-15, 2019
at California State University, Chico
Northern California Botanists will host their 9th botanical symposium on
January 14-15, 2019 on the campus of California State University in Chico.
Optional workshops will be held on Wednesday, January 16. A two day
schedule of presentations by working botanists will include sessions on
Vegetation Mapping and Monitoring, Importance of Herbaria in Research,
Management, and Conservation, Fire and Vegetation, Challenges and Solutions
for Conserving Cryptic Diversity, Native Plant Conservation, Lightning
Talks, Now the Good News, and New Discoveries.
The 2019 Symposium Keynote Speaker will be Todd Keeler-Wolf. Todd is a
senior ecologist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Todd's talk is titled "Learning to be a naturalist in Northern California."
He will discuss how California shapes us and will be weaving his personal
experiences, job, the landscape of California, and his passion of being an
ecologist.
