Hi All,
I wanted to reach out and let you know that a colleague/collaborate from Truman Young's lab at UC Davis, Derek Young (no relation), will be visiting on October 26th for some meetings, and I wanted to gauge interest in a potential mini-seminar about his work. He's just about done with his dissertation work on Sierra Nevada conifer seedling regeneration following fire and drought, and interactions among fire, forest density, climate, and conifer seedling health. He also does some work with dendrochronology, as well as conifer genetics looking at geographic versus genetic distance in douglas fir and some other species.
If these topics sound interesting to you and you would have time to sit in on a mini lecture/discussion with him, let me know so I can get a rough head count.
It would probably take place around 11:30 or so on Thursday Oct 26th, and we could potentially make it into a lunch thing.
Please let anyone else who may be interested know, too.
Thanks
Jeff Lauder M.S.
