The annual BACBS meeting will be in Davis, CA on 4/21/18. I don't think they have a website yet, but last year's 2017 meeting was in Santa Cruz<https://scbsantacruz.sites.ucsc.edu/2017/08/25/2017cbs/>...it's a great place to present for grad students interested in conservation/native CA species.

Hi GVL,

The Bay Area Conservation Symposium is scheduled for Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Geidt Hall, hosted by the Society for Conservation Biology-Davis.

There will be talks and a poster session, everyone is welcome (grads, undergrads, post-docs, staff, faculty, agency, NGO, etc.). You don't have to be affiliated with SCB-D or UC Davis to present or attend. A call for abstracts will follow.

This one-day student-run conference rotates between sites, and it is our turn to host! From the announcement from last year's conference at UC Santa Cruz: "The Conservation Biology Symposium brings together conservation scientists and practitioners from across the Bay Area to share pioneering research, forge new partnerships, and strengthen the local conservation community"

This year's theme is Barriers to Conservation. Feel free to forward this info to anyone who might be interested!
