[QSB-grads] Fwd: FREE morning summer camp for younger kids; volunteer opportunity for older ones

Hi QSB members,

There is a free children's program held by the United Methodist Church this
summer.  You do not need affiliation to a religion or religious belief to
attend and this seems like a valuable opportunity that may be important to
graduate students and others with children this summer. While I would
imagine there will be some faith based messages, I think there will be
careful consideration of the broad range of backgrounds and beliefs to
those attending.

Hello everyone,



A FREE children’s summer program that will be held June 17 through August
2, at the United Methodist Church of Merced.   Participants are NOT
required to be Methodist or any faith to join.   And, it’s not required
that you attend the entire summer; the program is flexible.



Breakfast and lunch will be provided in partnership with Merced City School
District.  Activities will be organized by staff and volunteers.   If you
have children that you would like to enroll, please fill out the
registration form and return it to jomanilay at gmail.com.  If you have older
kids or know of adults that would like a volunteer opportunity, please also
contact jomanilay at gmail.com (we can sign off on volunteer hours, so that
the students have a record of their service for their graduation honor
cord).



Please share this with your family and with other families that you think
might be interested.  It could be a good opportunity for the children to
meet other kids from around town in a fun, welcoming, inclusive
