Dear QSB members,
Please read the following important message about UC Path and the things we
need to do to ensure QSB students keep getting paid.
Dear Graduate Group Chairs,
As we approach the start of the semester, we are also gearing up for a
major test of how UC Path will work for us.. September will be the first
time we have all of the new graduate students going into the system as well
as continuing graduate students coming off of what is called a ‘short work
break.” The graduate support staff in the Schools and in the Graduate
Division have been working for months to prepare for this, and we have been
in close contact with the UC Path leads on campus and in the Office of the
President. I have also been in regular contact with my counterpart at
Riverside, as they are the other campus that is piloting UC Path. We are
hopeful but a bit nervous given the problems that have arisen already.
Accordingly, I am writing to ask you to help in the following ways:
1. Let your students know that if they encounter *any* problems or think
there are *any* errors in their pay to please let you know right away;
in turn, please let the graduate support staff working with you and my
office (gradfunding at ucmerced.edu) know so we are able to follow up
2. Make sure all of the new students have their original work
authorization and other new hire paperwork ready so they can be processed
by HRPC August 13, 14, 15. Necessary documentation for Hiring
Paperwork (see I-9 Form in
hiring paperwork for acceptable documents
<https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/acceptable-documents>).
3. Remind all of your students to make sure their banking information
and address are current in the UC Path portal - payroll record

.
Thank you!
