Dear UC Merced Community,



On behalf of the Office of Campus Climate, Social Justice Initiatives,
University Ombuds and Human Resources, you are invited to participate
in a *two-day
Diversity Awareness Workshop*.



The Diversity Awareness Workshop will be facilitated by our own diversity
team comprised of UC Mercedians. The goal of the program is to foster
greater understanding of diversity among faculty, staff, and students by
providing a safe atmosphere for campus members to discuss important issues
related to diversity and community.  As our campus continues to grow, these
types of dialogues become even more meaningful to ensure that we are
creating the kind of campus environment that fosters diversity and promotes
inclusiveness.  *Over 50 people from UC Merced participated in this
workshop last year and have continued to meet, have discussions and carry
out our action plans created during the workshop*.  I hope that you will
consider taking part in this unique training opportunity.



The upcoming two-day diversity workshop is scheduled for *Thursday, June
21st and Friday, June 22nd 2018 *(8:30am – 5:00pm).   You must be available
the entire time, for both days.

If you are interested, please complete and submit the application located

 by noon on *Friday, May 4th*. Spaces are limited and a waiting list is
anticipated.
