Hi postdoc-lovers,
I somehow only just heard of this scheme. It’s new and huge - it’s for
scholarships and postdocs in WA. All the details are attached - note that
the first round of postdocs had a success rate of 1.1%. However, they seem
to be open to any field.

Dear all
Can you please circulate this opportunity through your networks (aimed at
current PhDs who are intending to submit and be examined by 31 December
2018)? Past PhD graduates (they must have completed their PhD *after* 1
January 2016) can also apply. See below for more information:
The Forrest Research Foundation has been established with a gift of AU$130
million to support PhD scholars and post-doctoral fellows at any of the
five universities in Western Australia. Applications for the second round
of post-doctoral fellowships opened on 19 March and close on 18 May 2018.
Three fellows were appointed in the first round, and it is anticipated that
a similar number will be appointed in the second round.
The fellowships are open to outstanding candidates from any discipline and
any nationality; they must have completed their PhD after 1 January 2016,
or be expecting to submit and be examined by 31 December 2018. The
fellowships offer a salary, accommodation and travel expenses package
valued at over AU$115,000 per annum for three years.
The 2017 Annual Report of the Forrest Research Foundation (attached)
provides more details about the purposes and operation of the Foundation,
and the backgrounds and research interests of the inaugural post-doctoral
fellows and PhD scholars.
Thanks
Peter
