Dear Graduate Students,

I am writing to invite you to apply for our summer Dissertation Boot Camp,
to be held on May 14 - 18, 2018.

Dissertation Boot Camp is designed to provide dedicated writing space and
time to a cohort of graduate students who would benefit from a structured,
supportive writing community. Activities include writing check-ins and
check-outs each day, one-on-one help from writing tutors, and lunch
presentations on various aspects of academic writing. Boot Camp is held on
campus in a suite of four rooms: two for quiet writing, one for lunch and
presentations, and one for breaks and chatting.

Criteria for Participation:

   - Students have one or more writing tasks and can dedicate the full week
   of time to make progress. Writing tasks include the dissertation,
   dissertation proposal, qualifying exam, journal articles, book chapters,
   conference proceedings, and grant/fellowship proposals.
   - If more students apply than there are seats available, preference will
   be given to Ph.D. students nearing completion of their degree, students
   working on their dissertations, and students who have not participated in
   Boot Camp more than once before.


Registration:
If you wish to participate, please submit your application online no later
than May 2, 2018 by 5pm. Applicants will be selected and notified by the
end of day on May 7th. Please note that Boot Camp requires students to be
available on campus for the entire week of May 14th.
