UC Merced Greenhouse Core Facility Advisory Committee
The Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED), in coordination with the UC Merced Agricultural Experiment Station (AES), is soliciting nominations for faculty members to serve on the Greenhouse Core Facility Advisory Committee (GCF AC).

The GCF AC advises the Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Economic Development (VCR), or designee, on matters related to the function, operations, programs, and facilities of the UC Merced Greenhouse Core Facility, including adjacent nursery space. The committee also provides input on strategic planning, facility policies, and budgetary considerations.

Faculty members appointed to the committee will serve in an advisory capacity to the GCF Manager, AES Executive Associate Dean, and ultimately to the VCR. The committee summarizes its activities at the end of each academic year and upon request.

Eligibility & Appointment
Faculty members in ladder-rank positions, Professors of Teaching, and Cooperative Extension (CE) faculty from all Schools are eligible. We aim for broad representation from the GCF user community, and preference will be given to including at least one AES and/or CE faculty representative.

Appointments are for two-year terms and may be renewed. These are uncompensated service roles. Committee members are expected to attend regular meetings (minimum of four per year).
The committee includes:

  *   One Faculty Chair (rotating)
  *   Two to three Faculty Members at Large, including one Vice Chair
  *   One Graduate Student Representative (separately selected)

  *   Nominee's name and contact information
  *   A brief rationale (2–3 sentences) highlighting interest and/or relevant experience
  *   Self-nominations welcome
