Dear Colleagues and Students,

Please consider signing this statement and petition to Value Black Lives at
UC Merced. We can no longer be idle in the context of the recent killings
of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, David McAtee, Dreasjon Reed, Tony McDade,
Ahmaud Arbery, and many other African Americans. We believe it is
especially important for UC Merced faculty, students, and staff to stand
for valuing of Black lives and ask the UC Merced administration put in
further concrete practices against anti-Blackness and police violence.
