For tomorrow’s meeting, I’m hoping to talk about:
1. Modeling of Li-ion batteries. Pedro pointed out to me recently that the RSP builds out the Li ion batteries to have a MWh capacity that is more than 7 times the MW capacity, but if I look at ratings for batteries off the shelf, the kWh to kW ratio is usually between 1 and 2. How should this affect how we divide the cost between the $/kW and $/kWh model assumption?
2. Noah’s feedback on directions to take the abstract we just submitted. My quick thought on this – the approach we are using there is inappropriate for getting the end result, but it is very useful for gaining intuition about every aspect of this project and we could use this approach to publish a half dozen papers. We won’t be able to map out a single plan tomorrow, but maybe we can agree upon an approach.
I’m giving a talk at 10, so I will need to sign off a little early.
