Dear Colleagues,

The new push for clean energy development as part of an ambitious climate agenda outlined by the incoming Biden administration and the return of the U.S. to the Paris Agreement will create propitious conditions to relaunch international collaborations aimed at curbing global warming and supporting sustainable development strategies. What are the main components of the energy and climate agenda of the Biden administration? What do they mean for Mexico and its energy policy? Is there an opportunity to expand U.S.-Mexico cooperation on clean energy and climate change, given the current focus of the Mexican Federal government in increasing fuel refining capabilities?

Alianza UCMX, in collaboration with UNAM, invites you to the inaugural panel of the series “US-Mexico Energy Dialogues”, entitled “The Biden Administration and the return of the US to the Paris Agreement”, which will explore impacts on Mexico, potential areas of increased clean energy and climate binational collaboration at the federal and subnational levels.
