[LDES-technology] First discussion of modeling inputs on Tuesday, Aug. 24

For our first meeting, I’m wondering two things:

  1.  How many of you would appreciate hearing an overview of our project and an introduction to capacity expansion modeling?  I know there are some new people, but if the new people haven’t started coming, it wouldn’t make sense to take time to do that. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HEAR THE INTRODUCTION, PLEASE RESPOND.  If I don’t hear from any of you, then we’ll dive straight into the inputs discussion.
  2.  If I hear interest to #1, would any of you like to volunteer to give the overview?  This can be an opportunity to develop your speaking skills…  😊

I’m hoping that this time will work for those of you who are interested.
When running Capacity expansion modeling software there are about a million inputs. We can’t talk about every input, but we will try to talk about key inputs.
When we finish discussing the key inputs, we will convert this time to a journal club, like in previous semesters.
I haven’t heard from everyone whether this time will work, but I hope it will work for enough people that we can keep it…
