[LDES-technology] March monthly report

Hi, everyone,

Please feel free to ignore this email. It contains the (partial) summary about the work we did in March. I haven’t been sending them to you as a regular thing, but as we are moving from getting the software going to having some results, I thought it would be good for me to start sharing them more regularly.
Here are 3 reasons you might be interested:
1. You might want to see what others in the team have been working on
2. If you are interested in learning more about standard practices for project management (maybe in a future job, you will need to be managing a project) by my experience, this is a pretty standard sort of practice.  I used to find such things annoying, but I have found over the years, that it is helpful to me to sit down once a month to look at what we did relative to what we planned to do this month and to document what I think we can commit to completing next month. Note that I’m not trying to summarize everything that we are doing as that would take a lot of time. Which brings us to:
3. If you would like to see your work highlighted more in these reports (I’m not sure why it would be useful - not clear that anyone is reading them as I don’t remember ever hearing a question or comment back from CEC other than that it was received and filed) I would be pleased to have your participation. It’s possible that you would find it useful to note what you will accomplish in the next month and then take the responsibility to write up something for the next report. Another way it could be useful to you - if I ever write a letter of recommendation for you (which might happen when you apply for your next job), I could give some details about  “so and so did a wonderful job helping to manage our project by contributing to the monthly report each month.”
