The webinar<https://view6.workcast.net/register?cpak=8719910766737641&referrer=edl&utm_campaign=webinars2026&et_rid=451367279&et_cid=5948387> is expected to run for about 60 minutes.

The immune system is a central driver of aging, shaping processes such as chronic inflammation, tissue resilience, and functional decline. As research into immunosenescence and inflammaging advances, questions remain about how best to define and measure meaningful outcomes of aging.

In this webinar<https://view6.workcast.net/register?cpak=8719910766737641&referrer=edl&utm_campaign=webinars2026&et_rid=451367279&et_cid=5948387>, Andrea Maier will examine how immune aging intersects with other hallmarks of aging and discuss emerging frameworks for assessing function across lifespan, including intrinsic capacity. Mitsuo Maruyama will explore mechanisms of immune aging, focusing on immune cell function, frailty, and lactic acid bacteria-mediated immune modulation.

The program will also consider broader perspectives, including the role of gut immunity in systemic aging and current research into immune modulation, highlighting areas of progress as well as remaining gaps in translating immune biology into measures of healthspan.

Participants will be able to:

  * Describe key mechanisms of immune aging
  * Evaluate frameworks for measuring aging outcomes
  * Discuss emerging research linking immune function, gut biology, and healthspan
