UCSF LCOE offers the Aspiring Physicians Program (APP), a premedical career and support program for students who identify as *UIM at Fresno State, UC Merced, and SFSU. The program is comprised of an intensive summer program and an academic year of mentoring and advising. Students must meet program requirements, apply, and be selected for the program, which provides a summer stipend of $3000. Our 2024 summer program will be held hybrid, with some sessions scheduled in person at UCSF Fresno.

The CA Postbaccalaureate Consortium<https://health.ucdavis.edu/postbacc-consortium/> is a partnership of postbaccalaureate premedical programs located at UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Los Angeles, Charles Drew U., Cal Poly Humboldt (Tribal Health, Huwighurruk) and UC San Francisco. The mission of the Consortium is to increase the number of physicians who practice in shortage areas of California by assisting capable and dedicated students from disadvantaged backgrounds in gaining admission to medical school.

Admissions Requirements:

  *   Be committed to practice in the underserved communities of California
  *   Have completed an undergraduate degree in an accredited US college or university
  *   Have completed all, or most of the requirements, for medical school
  *   Have attained the minimum science and overall GPA (2.7) and Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) scores required by each program<https://health.ucdavis.edu/postbacc-consortium/admissions.html>
     *   MCAT not required for first-time applicants

  *   Come from an educationally and/or economically disadvantaged background

  *   Re-applicant Deadlines:

Please note that the PostBacc program at UC Los Angeles is strictly for re-applicants.

First-time applicants are defined as those who have never applied to medical school but have completed the requirements for entrance into the Postbaccalaureate programs. Re-applicants are those who have applied to a US medical school in the past but were not granted admission.
