AWARD

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has partnered with the United Health Foundation to offer 65 renewable scholarships<https://hacu.net/hacu-accepting-applications-for-2026-health-care-scholars-united-scholarships/> in the amount of $10,000 per year.



Applications are currently being accepted from undergraduate students pursuing degrees that lead to a career in a health care clinical profession.  Preference will be given to applicants focused on primary care, rural health, pharmacy, behavioral health, and maternal health careers.



Applicants for the scholarship must meet the following criteria:

  *   Undergraduate college student enrolled full-time or part-time.
  *   Must be enrolled or plan to enroll at a HACU-Member Hispanic-Serving Institution<https://my.hacu.net/assnfe/CompanyDirectory.asp?SEARCH_TYPE=21>.
  *   Must be classified as sophomores entering their junior year during the fall 2026 semester.
  *   Must have two years of study remaining before anticipated degree completion date.
  *   Must have and maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale).
  *   Must demonstrate financial need upon application.
  *   Scholarship recipients must attend the ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute at HACU’s 40th Annual Conference, Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, 2026<https://hacu.net/annual-conference/adelante-leadership-institute/>, in Chula Vista, California.



Current 2024 and 2025 scholars may not apply for the same scholarship program. Individuals will not be excluded from eligibility based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other characteristic protected by state or federal law.
