Hello everyone,

I hope this email finds you well! I wanted to reach out to request some speaker nominations for our Spring 2026 Environmental Systems seminar series (form attached here<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Slsk_Zf46QiL99Lz4GiECNYJCbLLIWmL/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=102835352531219877727&rtpof=true&sd=true>). I also wanted to share a couple of quick updates and changes we wanted to try out for the Spring semester.

First, to assist us with putting together a representative Spring seminar series, we've added a column to our form that requests the nominator to briefly outline how their speaker may contribute to the diversity of our speaker lineup. Our goal is to put together a speaker lineup that reflects the multidisciplinary nature of our graduate group as well as the diverse backgrounds and lived experiences of our faculty, students, postdocs, and staff. Please be sure to fill this part out along with the rest of the form.

Second, we also wanted to encourage folks to consider nominating postdocs as well as senior graduate students from your research groups to be part of our series. Our seminars are a wonderful space for postdocs and graduate students to practice their exit seminars/job talks/etc., and we'd love to feature their work and give them a space to share their research with their peers and the broader campus community.

Lastly, we're hoping to include at least one speaker from outside of academia (e.g. government agencies, non-profit research institutes) to give our students some exposure to careers in ES outside of a university setting. If you have a colleague in mind that fits the bill, please consider nominating them and adding their information to our form.
