<p style="margin:0in;text-align:justify;background:white"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">The Center for Africana Studies (CAS) at UC Merced invites applications for Research Travel Grants for Students in the School of Social Sciences,
Humanities, and Arts (SSHA), researching topics related to the experiences of Africans and African-descended people worldwide, past and present. Preference will be given to graduate students in SSHA. CAS is a research and cultural hub committed to advancing
innovative and interdisciplinary research on Africa and the Diaspora.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in;text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif;color:black">CAS is pleased to offer awards of up to $3000 for UCM students to conduct research in Summer 2024. These awards should be used for travel, including airfare,
ground transportation, meals, and lodging at your research site. This fieldwork should contribute to a substantial project, including a doctoral dissertation or master’s thesis. Undergraduate student recipients are welcome to use the funding toward a summer
research project supervised by a faculty mentor. <b>Grant funds must be used by August 20, 2024. </b></span><o:p></o:p></p>
