[Sshagradstudents] Bobcat Art Show Call for Art + Film Screening Tonight

Good afternoon SSHA students!
The Bobcat Art Show is back, and we want to feature YOUR work! Open to all UC Merced undergraduate & graduate students, staff, and faculty, this annual exhibition showcases the creativity of our campus community at La Galería. Tell your colleagues, peers, classmates, professors, etc!
Whether you’re a painter, photographer, sculptor, or filmmaker, this is your chance to share your art!
📅 Submission deadline: April 4, 2025
🖼 Exhibition dates: May 1 – May 17, 2025

Accepted Mediums:
🎨 Painting, drawing, photography, video, textile art, sculpture
Submission Requirements:

  *   Must be original artwork created within the last 4 years
  *   Cannot have been displayed in a previous Bobcat Art Show (last 4 years)
  *   Physical media required (ex: Digital work or photos must be printed, sculptures must be structurally sound)
  *   Must be ready to hang/display when dropped off at La Galería
  *   Hanging hardware & limited frames available upon request – email ggarnica2 at ucmerced.edu<mailto:ggarnica2 at ucmerced.edu> after submitting your form

📩 Artists will be notified of acceptance on April 5 with drop-off instructions.

🎬 Film Screening Tonight at La Galería!
Catch a thought-provoking documentary TONIGHT (March 18) at 7pm in ACS 102, as part of La Galería's Actions for the Earth programming. Another documentary will be showing later this week on Thursday.

The Actions for the Earth exhibition is on view through April 19th, featuring works that explore the relationships between art, the environment, activism, and the body. There’s also a great lineup of programs alongside the exhibit:
