The Waterloo Wetland Lab at the University of Waterloo is recruiting a
Postdoctoral Fellow.

*About the project*
Over 80% of Canadians live in cities with limited access to green space and
the ecosystem services it provides. Unfortunately, we do not make the most
of what urban green space we have, leaving tens of thousands of acres as
low-value and costly-to-maintain turfgrass. Our partnership seeks to inform
turfgrass-to-meadow conversion for The Meadoway project, a 16 km
hydro-corridor ecological enhancement project that will connect the Rouge
National Urban Park to downtown Toronto. This restoration project has the
potential to replace invasive plants with native species, increase habitat
quality for pollinators, mitigate heat stress, and enhance carbon storage
and sequestration, tackling the biodiversity and climate change crises
simultaneously.

*About the position*

   - 2-year position, with the option to renew for a third year with
   funding fully secured
   - Salary: $60,000/year, with extended health and dental benefits, and
   pension

*Requirements*

   - PhD in Environmental Biology or related field
   - Local to Waterloo, Ontario, or willing to relocate
   - Experience modelling species distributions, bioclimate envelopes,
   habitat suitability, or equivalent
   - Experience assembling and working with large geospatial datasets
