Our CCGP Mini-Core technician is departing for graduate school this summer
and we are searching for replacement candidates with existing molecular
benchwork skills to help carry the torch through the end of our mission.

Position Description:

The California Conservation Genomics Project is hiring a lab assistant in
the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of
California, Los Angeles.

The Conservation Genomics Lab Technician will primarily support the
laboratory research requirements of the CCGP, a state-wide initiative that
seeks to assemble a large multispecies genomic data set for California's
wild taxa. The incumbent is to assist in the processing of tissues and DNA
extracts and generate genomic libraries for next-generation sequencing in a
high-throughput research setting. In addition, in collaboration with the
Associate Director, the incumbent is to troubleshoot to ensure the project
progresses. Previous experience in a molecular biology laboratory is
essential. Incumbent is to help with similar research tasks supporting
related projects. Incumbent is responsible for some general lab management,
including equipment maintenance and supply stock ordering. To learn more
