<div>We are looking to hire a junior/rising senior undergraduate as a greenhouse assistant. This would be an 18 hr/week position late June 2021 - spring 2022. Tasks include helping the greenhouse committee check that the greenhouse systems are working
 properly and arrange maintenance as necessary and set up a greenhouse website and reservation system.</div>

<div><u>Qualifications:</u></div>
<div>- Rising senior with 2-3 semesters left at UC Merced</div>
<div>- Ability to work creatively and independently. Uses judgment to seek guidance and input from faculty advisory committee as appropriate.</div>
<div>- Organizational skills to organize, plan, coordinate and set priorities effectively</div>
<div>- Relevant experience with mechanical/electrical systems (eg. engineering courses, setting up home irrigation system, etc.)</div>
<div>- Communication skills (reading, writing, speaking) sufficient to effectively interact with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students </div>
<div>- Experience with office computers and ability to use database, spreadsheet, and word- processing software</div>
<div>- Ability to lift 20-50 lbs, squat, work in hot conditions, occasionally work at heights over twelve feet, and work where pesticides are used (with appropriate protective gear)</div>
<div>- Valid CA driver’s license</div>
<div>- Experience setting up or updating websites  (Desirable, but not required)</div>
